Lovely property, love the warm entrance with the fire place and chair around it. Makes you feel as if you are at home. The staff were very accommodating and helpful for the duration of the stay. We did encounter trouble with the toilet flooding the bathroom on the third night. However, the staff moved us to a new room the next day as compensation without trouble. Breakfast was surprisingly good, as we were out and about early in the mornings and never had to worry about eating out because the food was filling and quiet good. The location being near the center of town was definitely a major plus for us, as we didn't have a car and walked everywhere. As a group of girls it made staying our easier knowing our hotel was always within walking distance.

The room was nice and clean, with an amazing view of the mountain and forest. We absolutely loved the location: of course, it is remote, but an opportunity to wake up and immediately be on the slopes the first thing in the morning could not be beaten. The level of service, and friendliness of the staff are amazing - they were always going an extra mile to help us with our questions: be it something simple or convoluted (we had to use Friends and Family discount of Icon Pass for the chair lift, which turned out to be a convoluted procedure, but everybody was willing to spend more time and figure out the solution for us). "Chimney Corner" restaurant is also excellent - both for quality of food and the service.

Brand new mother daughter ski duo had amazing success with SkiBig3 Banff Adventure Hub gear rental and private ski instructor. Skied 3 days. Also enjoyed dogsledding in Canmore! Totally exceeded our expectations! Shops were variety of price points and restaurants offered a variety of options. Every turn of your drive was breathtaking! My teen stayed off of social media and thoroughly enjoyed the scenery during our drives! Everyone was extremely courteous and friendly in this town!

It is an absolutely charming town nestled in a most beautiful natural environment. The people were all very warm, kind, and helpful, although interestingly, they all (but one person I met) seemed to be from the UK, New Zealand, or Australia. But the accents were great, and so were the people. Next vacation... Australia! Back to Banff... a great getaway whether for skiing in the winter or simply unwinding, reflecting, and pondering the next steps, or getting your dream girl to say "yes" to the ring.

Banff and the surroundings are very picturesque and the towering Rockies add to the grandeur of the place. The ride in the Gondolas and the walk in the snow at the top is something no visitor must miss. Lake Minnewanka in all it's frozen splendour with the cabins in it's midst is spectacular when the sun comes up. Lake Louise - a few Kms away - is also something to behold. All in all a fabulous place to spend a few days.

There was a severe lack of snow this year (an el Niño year) which interfered with some of our planned outdoor activities, and meant we had to drive to Lake Louise for decent snow. We largely avoided downtown Banff because of the large number visitors and tourist shops. Parks staff at the information centre were very helpful.

Gondola rides was closed that time, for 5 days under maintanances must be mentioned or announced in your offer, so I dont have to booked too near to location a bit disappointed..but overall we still enjoyed downtown Baff.
Hotel is in a great location in Banff. Our plan was to ski which we did each day, alternating between Ski Norquay (20mins), Sunshine (30mins) and Lake Louise (45mins). Close to restaurants, shuttle bus, coffee shops etc. Clothes washer/dryer was great to refresh our stuff after 4 days and before moving onto the next location. Easy free parking right beside hotel. Rooms were clean, decent size and served our needs well. Great value for money. Older hotel but the rooms were completely updated and everything was new and worked well.
It's located close to Banff city centre, about a 5 minute drive. You also get a free bus pass and there's a bus stop right next door. Just make sure to get all the info on public transport in Banff beforehand, there's lots of different shuttles to places like Lake Louise and Moraine. That's not related to this hotel but still worth sharing ;-)
Beds were okay, not great but not terrible either. The fridge was spacious enough for our groceries. There was free parking right outside our room.
This cozy cabin was our favorite stay on our Banff/Jasper trip. We enjoyed building a crackling fire in the fireplace and having a nice table to play games at together with mountain views out the window. The location was great--close to Johnston Canyon and not far from Lake Louise/Moraine Lake. The staff was friendly, and check in & out was easy. We appreciated the complimentary bundle of firewood and cookies in the cabin. Would definitely recommend!
Nice location for Banff town, 20 minute slow walk or 5 mins on the cheap frequent local busses that run past the hotel, the stop is only a minutes walk from the hotel. We used the outside spa which was fun, good to catch up with some of the other guests. Underground car park was cheap and very convenient, they did suggest you can park for free round the back of the hotel but it didn't look somewhere I'd want to leave the car.
location is perfect, walking distance to downtown,
iga supermarket and the free shuttle to the Banff
gondola is right in front of the hotel. The room was
large enough and quiet with a big bathroom. water
pressure was great. We took the roam bus to
Johnston Canyon, bus stop was close to the hotel.
I would recommend the hotel to family and friends.
The view from the hotel restaurant and patio was amazing: overlooking Banff and the mountains. However the highway is just below so one did have the traffic noise in the background. The restaurant offered creative options. It was possible to walk into Banff - 25 minutes - we were there on Canada Day so parking in town was limited.
Located at the heart of Banff Town. A short walk to nearby restaurants, coffee shops, grocery and shopping. There’s so much to do and see in the area. Across the hotel you can take the bus that goes to Lake Louise. Hotel is new, very clean with indoor parking which was very helpful during winter. Highly recommended
They allowed dogs and the fee $$ was more affordable then other hotel chains in Banff, we loved our room on ground level with patio door it was an awesome stay. And #1 best thing was the free breakfast and the coffee machine in the lobby! Lattes all day! It was a coffee lover dream!
The location was good. Additionally the hotel provided us with free bus passes to be used to go to Banff downtown. The parking is difficult to get at downtown & it costs hourly CAD 5. So getting free bus passes for full 4 days for my entire family & friends group was great!
It's true what they say about this hotel it is Canada's castle. So much historic charm. The room was beautiful with a breathtaking view of the valley. The bed was very comfortable. The staff in the hotel and restaurants very friendly, respectful, and accommodating.
A really well located BnB. Banff is very expensive however, even by Canada’s standards. The included breakfast had some nice variety. The owners were very good at communicating via the website and very flexible when I had a later than expected arrival
We loved the hot tub and steam room. After a day of sight seeing around Banff back, soaking in hot tub is really relaxing.
The buffet breakfast is excellent with many varieties to choose.
The staff in hotel and restaurant were very friendly
It’s was quite and beautiful mountain view of the sulphur mountain. Upper Banff hot spring is just minute away from the hotel. My family enjoyed the sauna, hot pool and indoor pool. The food in the restaurants is mouth watering.
The staff…exceptional. Fun, helpful. We stayed in a VERY expensive hotel in Lake Louise the three nights prior and our experience at the Canalta was 100% better! If we come back to the area we will for sure be back!
Very clean and nicely appointed. Edwina was a helpful and responsive host! Great location - easy walking distance to downtown and the bus stop for the express bus to Lake Louise/Moraine.
The hot tub and sauna were amazing! Great location being only a 10 minute walk to downtown Banff. Super convenient that the shuttle to the ski hills stops right in front of the hotel.
Loved the location and the vibe at the hotel! Just on the end of the Main Street in Banff. So it was a short 15 minute walk to everything! Very cozy vibe with super friendly staff!
The hotel was convenient to downtown Banff and the room set up was nice. If you have a room with 2 beds having the separation is nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
I loved how the hotel was walking distance from downtown Banff. And how there was the bridge and Bow River right behind it.
I like how we had fresh towels daily.
so much for kids to do. Play area was great and water slides perfect for 11 year old.
free transit to Banff Springs hotel and downtown was also a welcome bonus.
